The history of the resort Primorskoe

The village was founded at the beginning of the 18th century by Old Believers (Lipovans) who fled here, as the Turks who ruled here gave support to Old Believers refugees and patronized the settlement of these lands. Initially it was called "Zhebriyans". After Bessarabia and Budjak joined the Russian Empire, the village became a frontier, and after the Zaporozhian army was disbanded and Zaporizhia Sich was destroyed, many Cossacks moved to the Danube Delta, creating the Danube Sich, and from there they penetrated into the village. In 1905, an old believer church was founded in the village, one of the local attractions. During the civil war in Russia, southern Bessarabia was occupied by the Romanians, and along with it, the village became part of Romania. In 1940, this territory was returned to the Soviet Union and became part of the Ukrainian SSR. During the Great Patriotic War, border guards fought heroically near the village, even creating a bridgehead on the Romanian bank of the Danube during the first days of the war, which was not on other sectors of the front, but the general retreat of the troops forced them to retreat to Odessa. The village was re-occupied by Romania. During the offensive of Soviet troops on Germany, a naval landing force was landed on the seashore 2 kilometers from Primorsky. Began heavy fighting for the village. The Romanians retreated. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the village was ceded to Ukraine and is now in its composition. In 2005, it was 100 years since the foundation of the church. During the offensive of Soviet troops on Germany, a naval landing force was landed on the seashore 2 kilometers from Primorsky.
